How to choose a Blue-Light Filter strength

Start at level 1, compare it with your normal display, and save the strength you prefer.

Jitsumi Blue-Light Filter strength control over a tinted desktop.

Blue-Light Filter has three tint strengths. Start at level 1 and try it with the game or desktop you normally use. There is no best setting for everyone; choose the one you prefer.

Try the three strength levels

In Options, tick Enable and move Strength to 1. Read some text and look at a familiar game scene. Try 2 or 3 if you want a stronger tint, then compare again. Strength 0 leaves the display untinted.

If you cannot see a useful comparison, turn off Time Based while choosing the strength. A schedule can leave the tint inactive outside its selected hours, even when Enable is ticked.

Save your choice

Click Save when you settle on a strength. Untick Enable whenever you need the display’s normal colours, such as when editing a screenshot or checking an in-game colour setting.

Night-Mode only changes the app’s theme. It is separate from the screen-tint strength. Choose the tint for how you like the screen to look; it is not a treatment for eye or sleep problems.

Before you install

The app runs through Steam and needs an internet connection while running. Check the product page for the full requirements before buying.
