Free up Windows storage without deleting the wrong files
Review Windows’ storage categories, uninstall games you no longer play, and check what a cleanup action will remove.
When a drive is filling up, start with Windows Storage settings. You can see which categories take up space before choosing what to remove.
Check what is using the drive
Open Settings → System → Storage. Review Temporary files and installed apps. Uninstall games through their launcher rather than deleting their folders by hand, and check Downloads for installers, screenshots, or documents you still need.
Check the Recycle Bin before emptying it. If you use Storage Sense, review its schedule and its Downloads and Recycle Bin options first. Back up anything you cannot replace.
Choose the cleanup tool for the job
Remove unused apps and files you recognise before touching unfamiliar Windows, driver, or game folders. Moving recordings to a backed-up drive can free more useful space than deleting small system files.
Game Booster also has actions for temporary files, configured cache folders, crash dumps, and the Recycle Bin. These actions delete files directly; they are not a file-by-file preview for you to approve. Check the selected action and cache-folder list first. To review Windows cleanup categories before deletion, use Windows Storage settings. Freeing storage does not guarantee higher FPS.
